Complex Catheters

Three Blender models designed around a Destino™ bi-directional guiding sheth type handle to showcase complex catheter manufacturing capabilities in sales presentations and an MDO newsletter.

Complex Catheters

TL;DR: I modeled three catheters tips in Blender (1) Single-Shot Pulse Field Ablation catheter (PFA) with a guidewire, (2) Large Area Focal catheter, and (3) Focal Ablation catheter with irrigated tip, all sharing a Destino™ handle.

Context

Sales needed visuals to explain manufacturing capabilities without exposing proprietary CAD. Marketing also needed editorial-friendly imagery for a trade press newsletter piece (MDO).

My Role

  • Reference gathering and look-dev
  • Modeling , UVs, materials
  • Lighting, rendering, and post
  • Delivery templates for PowerPoint + press

The Models

  1. Single-Shot PFA Catheter (with guidewire)
    • Basket geometry with evenly spaced electrodes; guidewire pathing for scale and orientation.
    • Emphasis on conductor routing and insulation layers without sharing exact internals.
  1. Large-Area Focal Catheter
    • Expanded electrode footprint; shaft markers and strain-relief details for manufacturing cues.
  1. Focal Ablation Catheter (Irrigated Tip)
    • Perforation patterning on the tip; subtle fluid cues in renders to imply irrigation without simulation overhead.

All three share a Destino™ handle (form/fairing inspired by common steerable handle ergonomics) to unify the set.

Usage

  • Sales presentations: Slides highlighting electrode options, handle ergonomics, and irrigation patterns.
  • Editorial: Selected stills formatted for MDO.
